| The Bibby Transmissions
Group has been a world leader in the design and manufacture of couplings
for use in industrial markets for many years. Dr James Bibby invented the Resilient Grid Coupling in 1917 and this has been emulated by many companies around the world and to this day it still enjoys a strong position in the market for high start up torque applications. As part of the Wellman Engineering Group from its early days, Bibby Couplings were used in all major projects around the world in the steel mills, mining, power stations and chemical processing plants as well as water treatment. These industries have become synonymous with the Bibby name for performance and reliability. |

| History | |||||
| In 2000,
the Group became a member of the Hay Hall Group of companies whose brand
names are all well known in their specific market sector. The sister companies
are Matrix International, Twiflex, Huco Engineering, Inertia Dynamics and
Dynacorp. See separate page on logos and web site addresses and the segmentation
of products. Corporate Structure Group Segmentation From the humble Resilient coupling the company progressed to enjoy world recognition as a major supplier of all types of couplings by providing engineering solutions to the power transmission markets. As industrial markets develop there became a requirement to provide additional safety levels and Bibby was forefront of this change with the introduction of its range of Torque Limiters and Torque Limiting Modules. This product line continues to provide accurate and repeatable disconnect functions affording safety protection to plant and equipment. A new addition to the Torque Control product line is the need to measure the amount of power being transmitted. Bibby Transmissions has moved to meet this need with their Torque Sensing Module which, provides accurate digital readout of Power, Torque, Speed and Temperature. Again demonstrating that the company has the capability in meeting changing market needs by supplying 'intelligent' products. |

| High Speed Disc Couplings | |||||
| The Turboflex division
of Bibby Transmissions first developed the disc coupling in 1958 and has
specialised in the High Performance market since this date. Consequently
we offer over 40 years of unbroken design manufacture and application experience
with tens of thousands of couplings in operation. The latest developed models are shown in our brochure under the heading HS models. This extensive experience, developed on providing solutions to critical applications has been utilised to produce a range of General Purpose disc couplings D, DS and DJ models. |

| All
these couplings are high quality but cost effective solutions for more general
applications. Where the coupling is required to have long span or mass applications
the range of carbon fibre shafts in the DJ CFT product is designed to meet
these needs. |

| Bibby
Transmissions has a reputation for quality and operating in international
markets we can manufacture to any country standards. Those currently supplied
are: - AGMA, ASME, ANSI, SAE DIN, JIS and Imperial. Special standards such
as Ministry of Defence are also catered for. The company has been approved
to ISO 9001/ BS 5750 since 1989 and is well on the way to ISO 2000 approval. |
